Here she is when we first got her in Feb:

Ginger is a quiet sweet girl that would LOVE to be somebodies horse again. She is 16 hands and 9 years old. She is healthy, had her shots and feet done. She is unassertive and will abandon her food if challenged so needs to have a separate eating area or a companion that will let her eat.

She was abandoned at a boarding stable and taken to auction. Very nice gaits; picks up her feet nicely. Quiet and compliant for vet and farrier. Excellent ground manners. Anyone can seem to ride Ginger. She would be good for someone who wants to do recreational trail work or arena work. She would be a lovely therapy horse. Her fosters tell me they have never known a sweeter equine.

Below Ginger is doing quite well with her new life in foster care. Gaining some weight.

Ginger gets some love from her farrier (Jessica Armstrong) for being such a good girl. She is a sweet and easy mare to handle.

A trainer rode her and had this to say:

Ginger is a lovely girl.  I handled her on the ground, tying, grooming, feet - she did super. I tacked her up from the wrong side, one of my 'is it broke' tests, and she was fine.  The arena was not such that I could longe her so I just got on her off a mounting block and she was fine.  She intially rode pretty green, but since she hadn't been ridden for some time, didn't have shoes, and the footing was poor, I didn't push it very hard.   As I rode on with her she got rounder and longer in her neck, like she understood that, just couldn't do it very well.  She was certainly sweet, not spooky, not tense with either saddle or rider.  In fact, quite lovely."

Here she is after a couple weeks in her new foster home. She is getting some brushing but has her ears on Jazzy coming up from behind; as usual.

Very well trained. We have had quite a few folks ride Ginger; always tries her best. No vices. Good with kids.
