Baby was born August 6th while her
attendants slept in their tents next to her paddock.
She was only 50 lbs at birth; very small. But Kahlua
was starving for the first 6 months of her pregnancy
so that was sure to have had an impact. The new Mom
has plenty of body fat now so will be able to give
little Remi plenty of nice rich milk. The Vet declared
her healthy and gave the new Mom a shot to help her
clear the rest of her afterbirth. Both Kahlua and
baby are very calm and trusting of the people around
them now. Things might have been so very different....
