Here
is Valentino on his arrival at SAFER foster Mom Betsy
Bueno's greener pastures. As you can see he has parked
himself in a no parking zone. April from NorCal Equine
Rescue is keeping an eye out for the cops.
Val is a very handsome
and well cared for horse. He is 16.3 and 14 years
old. He came from a private family that was experiencing
divorce. NorCal Equine Rescue transferred him to SAFER
as Sonoma has more demand for TB's than they do in
the Sacramento valley.
He is very well trained
to ride. Incredibly calm and responsive. Has never
spooked at anything. He is used to a stall and blanket
and was probably somebody's show hunter jumper. He
is used to new settings and not at all nervous. He
has great barefoot hooves - nice big ones to support
his tall frame. He really picks up his feet and has
lovely movement and gaits. Training and temperament
like this are hard to come by.
He is sound at the
walk and trot but has a hock issue at the canter.
We have had wonderful sponsors - Katie M., Heidi J.and
Sylvie D. step forward to get him vet exams with radiographs.
They show his hocks are fine. We have done a Sonogram
and all his soft tissue is in "pristine"
condition.
